VR Career Path Training Program for Students with SEN
In partnership with the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (NLPRA) and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), a VR Career Path Training Program was developed to empower students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their career accomplishments and confidently transition to the workforce.
This program utilizes VR technology to create a safe, engaging, interactive and bilingual learning environment where students with SENs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and facing social communication challenges, can practice essential soft skills. Through realistic simulations of workplace scenarios, students gain valuable experience in workplace communication, professional networking, performance reviews, and daily work vibes.
Since its launch, the program has witnessed exceptional enrollment and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Participants and a multi-disciplinary professional team of clinical psychologists, social workers, counselors, and speech therapists from NLPRA have observed their remarkable improvements in confidence towards social interactions, ability to recognize and respond to non-verbal cues, and higher willingness to engage in workplace-related tasks among participants.
Through VR technology, students immersed themselves in simulated work environments to practice essential soft skills for their future careers.
