Advice on Emergency Evacuation

  • Students with disabilities may need to communicate with various on-campus services on emergency evacuation. They can contact SEN Support to review the need for creating a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

  • Students with PEEPs are advised to get prepared for the below:

    • be familiar with your own evacuation options.

    • inform respective party (e.g., instructor in a lab or sports course, student hall, etc.) that they would need assistance in an emergency, due to either a permanent or temporary condition, by providing the latest PEEP at the beginning of each academic term.
    • in an emergency situation, ensure security and first responders are aware of their location.
    • identify at least 3 individuals who are willing to assist in case of an emergency.
    • update / meet SEN Support each academic year or whenever necessary to ensure their PEEPs are up-to-date.
